I spent many years as a session vocalist, and was one of those lucky people who made a living doing the thing I loved most.

​In more recent years, I have felt the need to produce my own material, telling my own story, which has some very dark times in the past.

Some of the songs on my recent albums and EP do indeed come from a dark place, but many of them started life as a poem which I have already shared. From those, I had the most amazing response from thousands of people who had suffered their own dark times and who had drawn some comfort from them. To quote a number of them, for the first time, they felt seen and heard. Also, I heard from others who thanked me for shining a light on issues to which they had been ignorant.
